Info | PP12663 (28/5/2002). Named after one of Mr. Heemskerk's daughters. From Holland, a tetraploid white margin fortunei type. Discovered in Holland, H. 'Karin' is a reverse mutation of H. 'Anne', which itself is a tetraploid mutation of H. 'Fortunei Aureomarginata'. The very dark black-green foliage is surrounded by a wide creamy gold border. The 3' wide clumps are topped in mid-summer with stalks of light lavender flowers. From Holland: a sport of H. 'Fortunei Hyacinthina' with very dark green leaves surrounded by a variable creamy-white margin. Probably a tetraploid and similar to H. 'Patriot' but the leaf is cupped and the margin is not quite as wide. Lavender flowers. |
