Info | (Golden Pavilion) 15" tall. Part Sun to Light Shade. A brilliant large yellow with irregular green margin with streaks to the mid-rib. Stunning. This import from Japan is sure to brighten the woodland garden. From the same region of Japan that brought us H. montana 'Cho Ko Nishiki', comes a selection with brilliant golden leaves, surrounded by a narrow dark green border. H. 'Kinkaku' will eventually make a spectacular 3' wide clump, topped in summer by 4' spikes of light lavender flowers. Bright golden-yellow to lime-green leaf w/irregular center streaking. Forms a large mound of gold leaves with a narrow green margin. Habit is the same as the other montana types. White flowers. Very similar to 'On Stage'. I was touched to see the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto last year and its beauty is certainly reflected in this plant. Large montana leaves are solid gold with the occasional green stripe. Slowly builds to a large mound in 3 years. Shade. |
