Info | 30" tall. Part Sun to Light Shade. A H. 'Sum and Substance' mutation with very large leaves and a narrow gold margin. Incredible growth rate. Pale lavender flowers. From England's Apple Court Nursery, comes this stunning new sport of the giant H. 'Sum and Substance'. The leaves are a wonderful glossy dark green surrounded by a narrow golden edge that widens and fades to cream as the season continues. H. 'Lady Isobel Barnett' makes a giant clump to 7'+ wide, and is topped in late summer with 40" scapes of large purple flowers...a magnificent specimen plant if you have enough room! One of the many H. 'Sum & Substance' sports--same large leaves, but these are green and have a nice yellow margin; very vigorous and nice lavender flowers. From 'Sum and Substance' with green leaves with a narrow gold margin. I have read that some expect that this plant will actually get larger than 'Sum and Substance, but I haven't had it long enough to form an opinion. Pale lavender flowers. A 'Sum and Substance' sport with the same huge, highly slug-resistant, thick, glossy leaves but are green margined in creamy-yellow. Margins are much more prominent with plenty of direct sun. Grows much faster and larger than 'Sum and Substance'. Lavender flowers. |
