This spectacular sport of H. 'August Moon' is finally becoming more available. The heavily textured round corrugated chartreuse golden leaves develop a very wide dark green border... wider as the season progresses.... eventually making a spectacular 30" wide clump. In late spring, the clump is topped with sturdy 2' stalks of light lavender bells. H. 'Lunar Orbit' is similar, but different from H. 'September Sun'.
Oh, but it hurt to dig the display plant-very difficult temporarily losing this beauty from the garden. Bright golden leaves are edged in a very dark green. Excellent substance. White flowers. Limited supply.
A sport of 'August Moon' with round, heavily corrugated gold leaves with a wide, dark green margin. Pale lavender flowers.
Another wonderful sport from H. 'August Moon'--leaves have good substance and are roundish with green-gold centers and a wide dark green margin. Light lavender flowers midseason.
