Info | Impressive species makes a large clump with very heavy bloom scapes; purple flrs. A species plant that forms a large, spreading mound 3' or more across and 1½-2' high. Leaves are glossy, medium green, slightly wavy. Flowers are purple-violet on very tall scapes. Elongated leaves are a shiny dark green with slightly undulating leaf margins and are held horizontally. Petioles are speckled with dark purple. Prefers a heavy, moist clay soil. Extremely thick scapes hold the dense flower heads of light purple. Medium large vase-shaped plant. Leaves green with shiny underside. A must for the collector. Vase shaped with shiny green leaves and purple dotted petioles. Pale violet flowers on purple dotted scapes. Fertile. Medium green, upright and shiny leaves with purple dots at base. Pale purple-violet flowers. August blooming. |
