Info | Hosta rectifolia is unaccountably neglected in the U.S. It is has long oval foliage that is fairly erect and very tall flower stalks, to 3 feet, in late summer. Japanese cultivars are becoming very popular in Japan. This Japanese selection has leaves broadly margined bright yellow. It is mentioned in The Hostapedia, and says it, "comes close to 'Kinbuchi Tachi'", but for me this plant doesn't get as tall as KB. It seems rhizomatous and the flowers are different - different color anthers. |
