Info | Rick Goodenough named this big green monster 'Blarney Stone' after the fabled stone in Blarney Castle in Ireland. Kissing the Blarney Stone is said to give the kisser the "gift of gab". Rick didn't mention what kissing 'Blarney Stone' gives you, so we guess you'll just have to find out for yourself! What he did say was: 'Blarney Stone' is a huge heavy substanced, fast growing hosta with a mounding habit. Leaves reach 13" x 15" are rounded and are heavily pebbled. Like a large stone, 'Blarney Stone' is a very large hosta that is a soft chalky Irish gray/green. A single division can make a three to four feet wide clump in a couple of years. 'Blarney Stone' readily sets seed following near white blooms. The unique, sea green color of this boulder sized hosta will immediately stand out in your garden. By mid summer, Hosta 'Blarney Stone' turns dark green and blooms with near white flowers. This strong grower will quickly form a massive, dome-like mound 4 feet in diameter or more. |
