Info | ='Iichiro'. 'Brother Ichiro' began it's life somewhere in Japan, but no one knows more about it. It didn't have a name there, and was acquired by the late Hideko Gowen's brother. He sent it to her, and after a time, she gave Ken a piece of the still unnamed plant, as far as he knows the only piece she shared. In order to keep track of the plant Ken named it 'Brother Ichiro'. The margin is viridescent through the season. 'Brother Ichiro' is pretty unusual in that the margin comes out a bright cream color in spring then slowly fades as the season progesses It's a really nice medium-large plant for the serious collector who appreciates rare hostas. |
