InfoHosta 'Lakeside Doodad' (meaning not much of anything, referring to its size) could be called a dream plant, ideal for any small nook or border in the garden. The clear white centers and rich green border provide a nest from which spring flower scapes of red and white loaded with bright purple flowers. The parentage is unknown. The leaves are lance-shaped with rounded bases. It has a mound-like habit. It is a 1995 registration [MC].
This delightful little plant has lasting power.
Its white center has never developed browning or melt out in my garden.
The bloom scape is red and cream, flowers are purple.
Makes a bright spot.
