| Info | Hosta 'Lakeside Explosion' received its name because one single crown exploded into thirteen in the first season it was planted. This small, spreading green and white variegate with light orchid flowers can fill a variety of needs in a shade garden. The parentage is unknown. The leaves are lance-shaped with a rounded base. It was registered in 1993 [MC]. A miniature hosta with very narrow green leaves bordered in white. Lays flat on the ground in Mary's garden. Deep purple flowers in August. Shiny green, pure white edge. Small. Deep green with white border extending on to the full length of the petiole, vigorous growth makes this a good border plant. This delightful miniature has very long narrow green leaves that have a fairly wide white border--really stands out! Dark lavender flowers come late in the season. |
