Info | After dividing and relining 'Lucky Stripes' over the last summers, we have several clumps with very strong stippling/streaking throughout the leaves. A mature clump here measures about 15" wide and 10" high, expressing a neat, compact habit with leaves (about 2-3" x 8-10") which tip gently downward, displaying the stippling to maximum effect. Like its parent, 'Lucky Stripes' has intense, showy purple bloom, which adds greatly to its presentation. Bloomscapes are in perfect proportion to the clump. Due in part to its stability, we have been using 'Lucky Stripes' in hybridizing of late and have some babies with even more intense stippling on a variety of leaf shapes. As with all streaked hostas, it is best to divide the clump on occasion to perpetuate the best variegation. |
