Info | This giant blue-grey hosta from the Petryszyn breeding program is indeed a breakthrough plant. Each 5' wide clump stands upright, with the slightly rippled blue-grey leaves held outwardly. In midsummer, the enormous clumps are topped with 40" branched scapes, each ending in pure white flowers. Clumps must become established before scape branching is observed. Olga Petrysyn has concentrated on creating very large hostas in her hybridizing program, so it is years before she can tell if a plant is going to be good enough to name. This virtually guarantees that if a plant came out with her name behind it, there won't be any unpleasant surprises. The one we have here is a huge blue-grey plant with very large leaves that undoubtably will be one of the best in it's class. |
