Info | A medium green plant with ruffled leaves and white flowers, a fast grower. Large, leaves jade green, lanceolate-cordate with marginal ruggles. Lavendar flowers. Lg, dramatic deep grn. w. wavy margins; impressed veining. Aptly named, this 1920's selection of Cynthia Tompkins has been one of the pioneers in her hybridizing program. Forming a very large, spreading montana type clump, each dark green leaf has deeply impressed veining and distinctive, undulating, piecrust type edging. Chet also used this cultivar heavily in his hosta work. Its offspring are exemplary for leaves with heavy substance and strong, wavy edging. We have several outstanding seedling selections in green, blue and gold from 'Pioneer'. |
