Info | Yet another first-time introduction - this time from Bill Meyer, who is still pursuing his first First Look trophy. This plant is a medium-small mound of attractively ripple-edged leaves in a rich shade of green. It's best characteristic is the extraordinary shine on the leaves that led to its name. Not a splashy center point in the garden, but a high-quality foil to all those brightly-colored plants that first catch your eye. Holds its attractive mirror-bright wax through the season well, but too much sun could damage it. It's a longipes cross with an unnamed seedling that blooms in the mid-late period. Average flowers (not fragrant as you might suspect) with good seed set and should be good for hybridizers looking to breed for shiny leaves. |
