Info | A mutation of fortunei stenantha 'Aurea Variegata'. We watched this stunning hosta as a mutation for three years as just an oddity. In the fourth season of separating and observing, we realized that here at last was a white hosta that is vigorous, that does not revert, and one that one can plant and be SURE of having many years later! New leaf will be yellow-green before turning white, with irregular 1/4" dark green edges, sometimes having green spatters through the leaf. Lvs. 3 1/2"wide and 8" long form a dense greenish-white 28" mound. Flowers on 21 " scapes are pale lavender in July. This IS a very nice surprise, and we proudly present it. A mature clump can be seen in Peter Ruh's unrivaled Chesterland, Ohio, garden. |
