| Info | Wide-edged version of 'Island Charm' developed by Alex Malloy; distinctly different from its mother plant by wider leaf margins and a much better growth rate; great in both garden and container plantings Hosta 'Xanadu' is the latest example where a sequel is much better than the original. This mutation (probably a tetraploid) of the small Hosta 'Island Charm' is composed of pointed green leaves highlighted by a dramatic white center. The vigor is dramatically improved thanks to a wider green border and we have had no leaf scorch in our trials. The 20" wide clumps are topped in mid-summer with 18" spikes of lavender flowers. This has quickly become one of our favorite hostas. |
