Info | The all-green sport of 'Oshima Silk', Mark Zilis acquired 'Oshima Silk' from a Japanese collector in 2006. It is a pycnophylla seedling with very white backs (of course) and there will only be fewer then 50 of these. A hybrid of H. pycnophylla with rounded green leaves of good substance that develop intensely ruffled margins. The wavy margins show glimpses of the chalky white leaf backs that the plant was named for (baja is Spanish for bottom). In August, horizontal scapes bloom with fertile purple flowers. |
