InfoThis is a very nice sport of H. 'Fragrant Blue' that comes from Stan Beikmann of Michigan. Intensely powdery blue-green leaves have a variable white border that jets toward the center and is apparent when the plant emerges. There is some lighter gray streaking along the inner veins and later in the season the leaf centers will turn gray-green. Long and fragrant lavender buds open to near white and are very fertile. Emerges with a white edge. It may also have a wider margin then 'Secret Love' variable from 3/8" - 1" jetting inward with some lighter gray streaks along the inner veins. The powdery blue green color is very intense and holds well late into August. Leaf size is 5" x 6 1/2" heart shaped with outer edge white streaks down the petiole. Leaf becomes seersuckered with maturity. The plant has matured to 10"-12" tall x 25" wide. The flower scape is 18" tall, glaucous blue-green with bracts along stem but no leaves. It produces pale lavendar buds with near white 1 1/4" + funnel/tubuler flowers beginning about August 4th here. Pistil and stamens are white with grayish dark stamens. It set seed sparsely.
