Info | A sport of H. 'Guacamole' that has minor, but interesting differences to the parent. In the spring the two Hosta are indistinguishable, but as the season develops the differences become apparent. First, the dark green form becomes much darker in color - developing a rich dark green coloration that lasts till fall. The differences are more apparent in high light conditions where the variegation of 'Guacamole' tends to wash out. Second, the leaves have more texture than the parent and sometimes show some twisting. Early observations point to altered dormancy requirements (Here in Georgia, it is still up in late December!). One of our TC lines of 'Guacamole' was contaminated with this form, so you may already have one. We are selling this form as customers have requested it saying it is an improved form of 'Guacamole'. |
