InfoThis was the last seedling of Julia Geisler, an Omaha hybridizer from the early to mid 70s, and given to Jane in 1991 just before she died at the age of 90. Open pollinated, a cross with H. 'Sieboldiana Elegans' but yet very distinct in leaf shape, coloring and color that changes during the season. The leaf color in spring is translucent chartreuse, changing to light green by June and finally to a dull blue-green by August the color of dark green on a '45 Cadillac after many years of oxidation. The leaves are platter shaped 12"x9.5" without prominent ribbing, glaucous bloom underneath, moderately corrugated. The blooms are white, tightly clustered just above the foliage in late summer.
