| Info | PP14040 (5/8/2003). 22" tall. Part Sun to Light Shade. This stunning new hosta is going to zoom to the top of the popularity poll... it's that good! This sport, possibly a tetraploid mutation of H. 'Fortunei Aureomarginata', is the same improvement that we saw when H. 'Francee' sported to H. 'Patriot'. The thick dark green leaves are surrounded by a very wide light yellow margin. In mid summer, the 3' wide clumps are topped with sturdy stalks of light lavender flowers! From Holland, a sport of fortuneii H. 'Aureomarginata'. Unique from its parent as it has heavier more rugose leaves. The yellow margins are nearly twice as wide & the leaf centers and are darker green with the surface being very shiny; lavender flowers. This spellbinding Hosta is a sport from H. fortunei 'Aureo-marginata' but with notably improved characteristics, such as larger leaves, wider variegation and much heavier substance. Asexual propagation prohibited. Dark, glossy green leaves are graced with wide yellow margins. Good substance and texture to the leaves. Lavender flowers. A lovely sport of H. Fortunei Aureo Marginata. Rugose shiny leaves of dark green centers and wide golden margins have good substance. A rapid grower. Flowers soft lavender. |
