Info | JN: Ubatake Giboushi = "mountain peak hosta". Polished waxy dark green; oval to heart. Another wonderful garden plant that is rarely seen. The leaves are long-pointed glossy green ovals about 2" long, spreading out nearly flat. It is highly stoloniferous, forming nice colonies of a small-scale groundcover. The flowers are dark purple bells, blooming from deep violet buds, only a few per scape but gracefully nodding. This is the real thing from wild Japanese stock. |
