Info | =nigrescens 'Cally Strain'. Long cultivated in Japan but only rarely seen in Europe, this is a beautiful and rather noble species. Forming bold, open clumps, it produces in spring purple-black shoots that open to large and handsome, glaucous, pale grey-green, heart-shaped, ribbed leaves. It is, however, in late summer when it puts on a real performance for you when it bears massive, five - seven even - foot stems of lilac or white, funnel-shaped flowers. 5 ft. £3.70 per packet of seeds. |
