| Info | =sieboldiana 'George Smith'. ='Heslington'. Discovered in the UK, first hosta with the reverse variegation of 'Frances Williams'. George only produced a few each year, which were given to friends or sold with a certificate of authenticity and a request to neither propagate nor resell the plant! Plant was registered in 1983 but has only been sold in Great Britain. A sport of H. sieboldiana 'Elegans', leaves have a bright yellow-gold center and it grows into a beautiful clump about 15-18" tall. We've found this plant to be superior to other same type sieboldiana sports as it exhibits great vigor and multiplies well, we've been growing it in more than a half days sun here in the Northwest and find no burning as long as it has adequate moisture. Topped with near white flowers midseason. |
