| Info | It is one of the rising stars of our red petiole hybridizing program. This very special hosta resembles a bird in flight. It is a very waxy blue H. kikutii in form with rich cranberry colored petioles. The leaf margins gently undulate, effortlessly gliding on a warm summer breeze. It blooms in August with purple flowers on arching scapes and sets seed easily. Waxy, blue hostas with rich cranberry petioles are a rare treat when you discover them and infatuation quickly leads to desire. Late blooming but it is an easy plant with which to hybridize. |
