InfoIn the spring the leaves emerge almost pure white and then flecks of green gradually appear as the season progresses, by mid-summer plant looks almost normal; fast grower from New Zealand.
Another of the fabled white 'Undulata's, 'Mostly Ghostly' was quickly mostly gone for most who purchased one. A big part of why was that they got a small plant and this is one plant that is not easily raised to larger size from a small start. What we have in this offering is a multi-division plant of a size similar to the one in the photo. It was selected for its health and vigor and should give you a pretty good shot at getting one of these very special albino hostas growing in your display beds. It truly does emerge in Spring as white as the photo shows. For the frustrated collector, we offer another shot, this time with a good-sized plant. You can do it!
Worth having for the great name alone, 'Mostly Ghostly' is a true albino as it emerges from the ground in spring. Pure white, no green, NADA. Scary? Not really. As the season progresses, flecks of green begin to multiply on the leaves and the plant looks somewhat normal by mid-summer. A gem from our New Zealand collecting trip.
Morning sun is best.
This one comes from New Zealand, and while I don't know its background, I would guess that it since it is similar to 'White Trouble'  it may come from undulata.  The leaves emerge pure white in the spring, and over a period of time, green flecks appear throughout the leaves, gradually turning them green by summer.
From New Zealand. Leaves emerge pure white in the spring and over a period of time, green flecks appear throughout the leaves. Leaves turn all green by midsummer. New to our garden this year, but probably will need some sun like the other white hostas.
