Info | Hosta 'Silk Kimono' (Gowen/Hansen/Benedict 99). A H. 'Dorothy Benedict' x H. montana hybrid. Upright 18" high plant with medium green and silky grayish green center with .75 wide, creamy white rippled edged leaves. Went for really big bucks at the 2000 National Convention auction. I first saw this stunning hosta at the garden of Minnesota's Hideko Gowen, and immediately knew I wanted to grow and offer it. This hybrid of the giant Hosta montana x H. 'Dorothy Benedict' makes as 5' wide rapidly growing clump. The long wavy grey-green leaves are each bordered with a wide creamy edge. In early summer the clumps are topped with 3' tall scapes of light lavender flowers. This was one of the star plants at the 2000 American Hosta Convention in Minnesota! |
