| Info | The streaked 'Gala' will set a few pods, but I've never seen it set as many as the normal ones do. 2-3 pods per scape is about the best I've managed. I would recommend repeatedly pollenating it as that may give an extra pod or two. I have a few pods every year from it, and the seed germinates OK. So far, I only have one seedling going which carries the odd speckled variegation found in 'Misty Gold'. I suppose it would be a good idea to cross it with something highly fertile like sieboldiana or longipes in the first generation to try to improve fertility in the seedlings. [BM] |
