Info | Streaky breeder. A medium-sized mound of foliage that is chartreuse with yellow and creamy white streaks; very pale lavender flowers on two-foot scapes in July. Streaked sport of hosta 'Rhinestone Cowboy'. One of the hardest-to-get of the streaked plants raised by the late Ed Elslager, 'Urban Cowboy' was never really produced as such. A small number were found in the TC batch of it's stable margined form 'Rhinestone Cowboy'. Because it was never TCed itself after that we give it a technical OS rating despite these plants' TC origin. The background on this intriguing gold and cream streaker is 'Sea Prize' x 'Maekawa', and we believe it's fertile. |
